Bunga Bunga: Long Live the Kitsch Pizzeria

Open in 2011 by the Inception team that owns several other unique addresses (Maggies, Mr Foggs, Cahoots…), the Battersea pizzeria is now an institution of transalpine kitsch, complete with karaoke and a crazy club where you will cross paths with London’s golden youth.

Face lift: at the end of May, Bunga Bunga 2.0 revealed a new decor and a facade completely painted in the colours...of Italy! Open every day, Sundays are even festive with Il Porco, their version of a Sunday roast, with pork available all day long (£22-25).

Mondays, it’s not ravioli: a good plan for the neighbours in SW11, pizzas are now £1 every Monday night.

We smile: at the silly word play on the menu, such as the pizzas Jules Cheeser (gorgonzola, taleggio, mozzarella and goat cheese, £11) and the Frank Capra (red onion, pine nuts, rosemary, goat cheese, £12) while sipping a Bunga Negroni (£9), of course.

The best plans: private hire the place for a funky birthday party, or just celebrate the weekend with the party brunch on Saturdays (2 hours of Bellinis, karaoke and a fixed menu, £42).

Not ready for bed? On weekends, head to Cocobananas, underneath Bunga Bunga to dance the night away in the kingdom of kitsch, Brazilian-style.

Open Monday 6pm-1am, Tuesday- Thursday 6pm- 1.30am, Friday 6pm-2.30am, Saturday 12pm-6pm and 7pm-2.30am
