Somerset House Terrace: The Place for an Exclusive New Drink

Somerset House is always a great place to spend a summer evening- whether at one of their cool outdoor summer concerts, a new exhibition, or at one of their many bars and restaurants. This summer, they have teamed up with Italian brand Peroni to bring a pop-up Italian terrace, perfect for lounging in the sun and taking in riverside views across the city.

The terrace is the ideal place to try this summer’s new cocktail trend. Peroni is introducing the Peroni Ambra, an aperitivo (pre-dinner drink) that combines Peroni with chinotto, a rare Italian citrus fruit, for a bitter yet balanced taste sensation.

Sound appealing? Then pop over to Somerset House to try one, as this is the only place in London that it is available at the moment. Designed to open the palate and stimulate the appetite, Peroni Ambra is served over ice with an orange peel. Seated under chinotto ‘trees’ on the terrace, you can pretend you are in an orchard in Italy while lounging in the sun.

Also on offer are yummy cicchetti (small snacks) by chef Francesco Mazzei. Think small plates of marinated olives, Italian cheeses, and pizzas (£7.50- £10) and sharing boards (£14- £17.50). The perfect match for some yummy drinks on a terrace. La Dolce Vita, guaranteed.

Open Monday- Saturday 12pm- 12am, Sunday 12pm-6pm. April- September 2017
