HipChips: London's Hottest New Snack Food

The humble potato has had a serious makeover at HipChips, Soho’s new restaurant serving- what else- chips and dips! The team behind HipChips has carefully sourced the best heritage spuds to make the best chips in town.

Opened in October on Old Compton Street in Soho, the new eating concept serves up fresh chips on a conveyor belt, directly to diners. The colourful stained glass art elevates the simple spud to a divine art and is a nod to the fun to be had at this innovative restaurant. Dips are both sweet and savoury, bringing the concept of a snack-dinner to a whole new level.

Five heritage brands of potato varieties are cooked in front of guests, each one having its own natural colour and flavour. Dips are made with seasonal ingredients and are influenced by classic British and International taste combos. From smokey cheese fondue with pickled red onion to beetroot and lemongrass marmelade to a veggie ceviche with chili, these dips are made to be shared with friends.

Spuds for pudding? Most of us wouldn’t imagine potatoes for dessert, but Head Chef Scott Davis might just change your mind. His creative menu of sweet dip options are a new taste sensation. For dessert, the chips are dusted with cinnamon sugar before being paired with sweet dips like the American-inspired PB & J, lemon tart and raspberries or chocolate praline mousse. Our fave? The S’mores option!

Prices start at £4.50 for a small box of crisps + 2 dips

Open Monday to Thursday 12pm - 10pm, Friday & Saturday 12pm - 11pm, Sunday 12pm - 8pm
