Big Easy: BBQ on a Waterside Terrace

If a summer weekend means barbecue to you, then head over to the Big Easy BarBQ & Crabshack for a summer feast. The American-style eatery in Canary Wharf is the spot for a meal with a view, with a laid- back vibe and friendly atmosphere.

Paul Corrett opened his first Big Easy on Kings Road over 25 years ago, hoping to bring the flavour of 19th century crab shacks and bbq of the American Gulf Coast to Londontown. Large portions, live music and uber-friendly staff keep the social setting the same at this new outpost of Big Easy.

Overlooking the sensational skyscrapers of Canary Wharf on the Thames, the huge terrace at Big Easy takes up the top floor of the Crossrail Norman Foster Terminal. The view is breathtaking (check out the Gherkin and Cheese Grater!) and the terrace is the perfect spot for soaking up some rays.

The huge space encompasses a restaurant, bar and rum lounge, inspired by the rum bars of Port Royal Jamaica in 1700. With live music every night and over 100 types of rum on tap, this place will definitely get the party started.

In the mood for brunch?: Grab a group of friends and head over for the unlimited boozy brunch. For £29.50, you can choose unlimited prosecco, Big Easy brew, frozen mojito or house wine, along with the meal, of course, which is an unbelieveable bbq or lobster feast. Got a little one? Kids under 10 eat free. (Weekends from 11am- 4pm)

Sunny lunch: Check out the £10 “express lunch” menu for a quick al fresco lunch during the week. Choose a main (lobster mac n’ cheese, bbq platter…) and a glass of prosecco or wine. (Monday through Friday only)

Open Monday to Thursday 11:30 am – 11 pm, Friday 11.30 am – 11:30 pm, Saturday 11 am – 11:30 pm, Sunday 11 am – 10:30 pm
